The Indiana State Museum offers a wide variety of changing exhibits and showcases artifacts ranging from prehistoric fossils to current popular cultural items. Most items in the collection have an important connection to the Indiana story, including the Legacy Theater and special traveling exhibits. The museum preserves, interprets and presents material evidence of Indiana s cultural and natural history. Its facility includes the Ford Gallery, the NiSource Gallery and the Changing Exhibits Gallery. Its two-story gift shop offers unusual art objects, prints, posters, clothing, toys, jewelry, books and a large selection of Indiana-made products. The museum, located in Indianapolis, rotates its artifacts in and out of displays approximately four-times every year.
